Sailing Academy at RHSC
Learn to Sail with our Sailing Academy & Join the Club!
You’ll be using a great mix of dinghies, beginning with sailing with an instructor and leading up to navigating on your own around a full sailing course. Or of course, just enjoying a sail around Rye Bay. As well as its highly practical ‘hands on’ sessions, the programme includes sailing theory and a controlled capsize recovery, and all sailing has a rescue boat in attendance.
Your initial training is held with our training partner, Rye Watersports, on their lake. Once you have your Level 1 certificate (a 2-day course 6 hours each day), you’ll be able to join us at the club and sail as crew. You’ll then need to add to your skills with a Level 2 certificate after which you’ll be able to sail solo and have access to our club boats free of charge. A years’ club membership is included in the price.

How much does it Cost?
The cost of the course is £450.
Your fee covers the following:
- Training up to RYA Basic Skills (RYA Level 2) with our training partner
- Course materials
- Certification
- 1 years individual membership of the club from the start of your course
- Use of our club boats boats free of charge whilst you remain a member

Through this fast track package you will receive training up to RYA Basic Skills (RYA Level 2) at Rye Watersports. Your package includes 1 years individual membership at the Rye Harbour Sailing club from the start of your course.
You will enjoy free use of the club boats whilst you remain a member.
