Introduction to Creative Writing
This lively, generative workshop offers the chance to experiment with words, ideas, character, voice and storytelling in a relaxed and encouraging environment. Through engaging exercises and discussions, you will explore how writers find inspiration, develop ideas and bring their imagination to life on the page.
Whether you have always dreamed of writing, have a story you would love to tell or simply want to try something new, the weekend will give you practical tools and the confidence to get started.
What the weekend will involve
The emphasis is on doing rather than listening. Expect plenty of short, achievable writing exercises, friendly discussions and opportunities to share your work if you would like to.
You will explore a variety of forms and techniques, discover what interests you and begin developing your own creative practice. By Sunday, you will leave with new writing, fresh ideas and practical ways to continue writing beyond the workshop.
