Dinghy Racing on the River Rother

These photographs, taken by Clive Heathmarsh’s family on Sunday 21 June, capture a fine day of dinghy sailing at Rye Harbour.

Clive is pictured on the River Rother, with several other dinghies gathering in the background and making their final preparations before the start. The mix of boats on the water and the harbour setting make for a particularly memorable view of club racing.

Take part in the dinghy race series

RHSC’s dinghy programme includes friendly series racing throughout the season, with courses held on the river or out in Rye Bay depending on the weather and conditions. It is an excellent way for experienced sailors to enjoy close competition, build confidence and spend time on the water with fellow members.

Members can check the programme and simply come along to scheduled sessions. Visiting or prospective sailors should contact the Club in advance so that we can confirm experience, arrangements and availability.
