A welcoming sailing community on the River Rother for over a hundred years - for racers, cruisers, families, and anyone drawn to the water.
ABOUT CRUISER SALING

Your Gateway to Coastal Cruising

Our cruising fleet ranges from compact 20-foot yachts to offshore cruisers over 40 feet in length, with boats berthed by private arrangement in yards and moorings along the River Rother towards Rye. As a traditional drying harbour, Rye offers a unique sailing experience, with vessels resting safely on the mud between tides and a variety of keel types represented throughout the fleet.

The river provides a secure and sheltered base for day sailing, coastal cruising, and cross-Channel adventures. With direct access to Rye Bay and the English Channel, members regularly enjoy everything from relaxed local passages to extended cruising voyages both around the UK and further afield.

Whether you're an experienced yacht owner, an aspiring crew member, or simply looking to enjoy life on the water, you'll find a welcoming and knowledgeable cruising community at RHSC.

Cruise the Coast & Beyond

From leisurely day sails in Rye Bay to cross-Channel passages and extended cruising adventures, our members enjoy exploring some of the South Coast's most beautiful waters. Many yachts regularly visit destinations including Eastbourne, Boulogne and Dieppe, while others venture much further afield.

Friendly & Competitive Racing

Cruiser racing is a key part of club life, with a varied programme running from April through to October. Racing is open to all abilities and provides a great way to develop your sailing skills, enjoy friendly competition, and spend time on the water with fellow members.

Join a Welcoming Community

RHSC is home to a welcoming group of cruiser owners and crew who share a passion for sailing. Whether you're looking to race, cruise, gain experience as crew, or simply meet like-minded sailors, you'll find plenty of opportunities to get involved both on and off the water.
